 Welcome to the Rising Sun InnThe Rising Sun, Thornhill Moor, Hope Valley, is located in the heart of the beautiful Peak District National Park. An 18th Century award winning, privately owned and family run Inn, close to Hathersage, Castleton, The Derwent and Ladybower Dams (of Dambusters fame). The stately homes of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and also the Market towns of Bakewell and Buxton are all just a short drive away. The Inn is privately owned and personally run by Graham and Carole Walker,alongside their family Sarah and Oliver. Friendly and efficient staff work with the family tirelessly striving to make sure everybody has the most comfortable and pleasant visit possible. Home cooked fresh food (which is locally sourced wherever possible), Hand-pulled ales, including locally brewed ales, a large selection of Whiskies, and an extensive Wine List, along with old paintings, antique furniture and fresh flower arrangements in abundance. If you are the kind of person who appreciates the best, thinks of the past, and who wants all the benefits of modern hospitality, come and stay, dine or just enjoy a drink, where we create a unique, comfortable friendly ambience at The Rising Sun. The superb accommodation comprises of 12 individual bedrooms, including several deluxe bedrooms and suites. Like the rest of the property they have recently been refurbished and redecorated to provide comfortable surroundings in which to relax. An ideal location for a relaxing drink, enjoy a delicious meal, relax in our beautiful mature garden, overlooked by the surrounding hills, or stay the night in one of our individually designed luxury rooms. It is also the perfect stop over spot for businessmen being central to Sheffield, Chesterfield, Buxton, Stockport and Manchester. All the above combined with our Oak Panelled Ballroom also make this an altogether excellent location for creating the most perfect and memorable of days for your Wedding, special Anniversary, Birthday, Office Parties and everything inbetween.
